Top TwosDay: Stepping Up To The Plate

English books

Nontraditional news this week: Simon and Schuster is opening their database for booksellers, by launching a customer portal with a premier marketing plan. Guess they’ve figured it’s about time to make it easier for Bookstores to continue a relationship, as Apple steps up to the pitching mound, tossing their new version of OS X, Mavericks into the game, with the hope of capturing first instead of third place, in eBooks, more. And the games continue…

Also noteworthy, Malorie Blackman, newly chosen British Children’s Laureate has a straightforward message to the Guardian, “…people love to stick you in boxes and put labels on you, and I didn’t want that. I thought, I wanted to write the kind of books I would have loved to have read as a child.” Read the entire article here, and see why she’s an avid activist for more books that are supporting minorities as main characters.
